Introduction

Welcome to the Internet group, within Telefonica Research, Barcelona. The group, which was created in November 2006,  focuses on long term research problems relating to the Internet. Current areas include highly scalable distributed systems, next geration social networks, and advanced wireless systems. We follow an open research model in collaboration with universities and other research institutions and favor the dissemination of our work both through publications and technology transfer.

The team is led by Pablo Rodriguez and has a multi-disciplinary background with a mixture of systems, theory, networking, and measurement skills.

News

• Telefonica Barcelona Open Research Day 2008 
• Our work on a P2P VoD system that allows for VCR-like functionalities, has won the New Internet Applications  prize in Madrid. 
• Our first Open Research Day was held on November 17.
• The paper "I Tube, You Tube, Everybody Tubes: Analyzing the World's largest User Generated Content Video System" has received the best paper award at IMC'07.
• We will organize ACM/Sigcomm 2009 in Barcelona.
